Tandem installation

AirScape fans can work in tandem to deliver double the airflow with both units controlled by a single switch

How a tandem installation works

All AirScape units work great in a tandem setup. You’ll get double the airflow without double the noise.

You might think that, in a large house that requires two whole house fan units, it would be sensible to mount the units at opposite ends of the building. And sometimes this is the case. Usually however, the most effective setup is to run the two units in tandem, operating as a single unit. Here’s how to set it up:

Placement

As with a single unit, a tandem installation should be in a central, open area for best performance. The units should be mounted 2-3 joists spaces apart to ensure there is no standing wave interference that increases sound levels. See the diagram at right.

Control & wiring

As with a single AirScape, a tandem setup can be contolled either by a hard-wired wall switch or optional wireless remote. Diagrams below provide details on each option.
