AirScape Professional Bathroom Ventilation kits are available through our general ventilation sales partner HVACquick.com

If you’re accustomed to typical all-in-one bath fans, be prepared to be impressed. These commercial air systems deliver huge flow, yet are almost imperceptibly quiet. That’s because the fan is mounted inline in the wall or attic, rather than right over your head. So you get great ventilation that keeps your bathroom air clear of odors and excess humidity, without calling attention to itself.

AirScape ASBI Kits have carefully matched components designed for total system performance and ease of installation. This pre-engineered approach allows homeowners and general contractors to install serious commercial ventilation in residential projects with confidence.

Kit components

Powerful S&P Inline Fan

At the heart of the system are heavy-duty commercial fans, manufactured by S&P, the world’s biggest air movement company. These same fans are installed in countless commercial and high-end residential properties around the world. Proven reliable in heavy-duty applications, they’ll provide many years of silent dependable service in your bathrooms. Specs vary by fan size; see individual PDF spec sheets below.

Professional insulated ducting

Locating the fan away from your ears is a great start; but the other trade secret that AirScape systems apply is the use of flexible insulated duct. This ducting provides serious acoustical dampening while also preventing the possibility of condensation in your wall or attic. And it’s flexible, which makes it super-easy to install too.

Auto-off Electronic Timer

These systems are so quiet that without automated shut-off they tend to get left on for days or weeks at a time. Each system includes one electronic timer with easy-to-use presets for 10, 20, 30 and 60 minutes. Just tap the duration you want when you enter the bathroom and your done. If you are installing one of our twin systems to ventilate two bathrooms with one fan, you can order an extra timer and wire it up so each bathroom has it’s own control.

Hi-flow grill(s) with integrated damper

Air grills should be unobtrusively attractive, yet many times designers will sacrifice performance to achieve this. Performance you ask? On a plastic grill? Yes, you’d be amazed. A design that is too restrictive not only reduces airflow but increases noise on high-flow systems. So we’ve selected grills for absolute minimum obstruction; and on our larger systems, we use twin grills to split the airflow for best flow, dispersion and minimum noise. These grills install beautifully and have an integrated backdraft damper to prevent outside air from funneling into the house.

Y-splitter (twin grill systems only)

Our larger fan systems draw from two grills, which requires a splitter. We include an appropriate sized splitter in each twin kit.

Low-profile Roofcap

Even the wrong roofcap can impair your system, so we include one of our special commercial-style caps. They’re leak-proof and low-profile while still allowing great airflow. Running the ducting out a side wall? You can substitute the roofcap for a wall-vent when you place your order. Also, if you want to be really fancy, you can upgrade to one of our beautiful copper roofcaps.

What is NOT included in these kits?

  • Duct tape is required to seal all the joints. You can use the generic stuff, or, order a roll or two of our favorite premium duct tape.

Choosing the right size system

  • Use the chart above to base your selection on the size of your bathroom. If you have an over-sized shower or steam shower, consider going up one size.
  • If in doubt, go bigger. Nobody regrets extra power.
  • One advantage of an inline system is that you can use a single fan to ventilate two bathrooms, if they are close enough together. You’ll want to get an extra timer so that the system can be activated in either bathroom. Here’s more information on two-bath installation.
  • With single intake systems, the optimum grill location is usually around the center of the room; with double grill intakes, an ideal setup is to locate one grill in the shower and the other over the sink mirror.
  • The longer your duct run, the more airflow is lost to overcoming pressure. Your kit comes with 25’ of flexible ducting; wherever possible, it is a good idea to limit your duct run to this length. If you need to run longer, or if the run requires more then 270 degrees of turning, we recommend you over-size your system by going one step up from the system recommended for your room size. If this is what you need to do, you’ll also need extra ducting.

Installation & Usage Tips

  • For the quietest setup, be sure to have a minimum of 8ft of ducting between intake grills and the fan unit. If bends are necessary, make sure the radius is as large as possible.
  • S&P fans can be installed in any orientation without effecting performance.
  • For duct connections, first use the ties included in your kit; then seal over with high-quality duct tape to ensure a long-lasting seal.
