Inline Kitchen Exhaust Kits
AirScape Professional Kitchen Ventilation kits are available through our general ventilation sales partner HVACquick.com
A powerful fan mounted inline—that is, in the wall or attic rather than inside the range hood—is the optimum setup to deliver great ventilation performance with very little noise. The AirScape ASKI series brings serious commercial components, specifications and techniques to residential kitchen ventilation.
The result is to eliminate smoke, heat, grease and odors quietly and efficiently, keeping the air quality and noise level in your kitchen as inviting as the decor.
ASKI Kit Components
Powerful S&P Inline Fan
At the heart of the system are heavy-duty commercial fans, manufactured by S&P, the world’s biggest air movement company. These same fans are sold to restaurants and commercial builders around the world. Proven reliable in heavy-duty applications, they’ll do great in your kitchen. Specs vary by fan size; see individual PDF spec sheets below.
Heavy-duty mounting clamps
Commercial fans require commercial installation techniques, so our kits come with heavy stabilizing and mounting clamps to prevent excessive vibration.
Duct Silencer
Locating the fan away from the range hood makes a huge difference but we don’t stop there. This special purpose silencer acts like a car muffler, eliminating any fan noise that may be radiating down the ducting.
Backdraft Damper
A spring-loaded backdraft damper mounts in-line just before the roofcap, automatically closing when the system is not in use to prevent outside air from funneling into the house.
Low-profile Roofcap
Our AirScape roofcaps are leak-proof and low-profile while still allowing great airflow. Running the ducting out a side wall? You can substitute the roofcap for a wall-vent when you place your order.
Range Hood Liners
We don’t include these in our base kits as some customers are connecting to custom hoods. If that’s not you, you’ll obviously need one. Learn more about AirScape Range Hood Liners
What is NOT included in these kits?
- Rigid duct is a commodity item that just doesn’t make sense for us to ship. It’s available in nearly any home improvement store; pick up the quantity that your installation requires. Note: Do NOT use flexible duct for kitchen installations.
- Duct tape is required to seal all the joints. You can use the generic stuff, or, order a roll or two of our favorite premium duct tape.

Select the correct size based on your cooktop area
Using a hood 6 inches wider than your cooktop will ensure the best coverage and performance. So, based on the width of your cooktop, just select the hood size and corresponding fan system for that hood size. AirScape systems are carefully balanced to work effectively.
Some other things to keep in mind:
- If you are using a third-party hood, the duct port on the hood can be larger than your fan duct size, but it should not be smaller.
- Island installations are harder to ventilate effectively as they are open on all sides: go with the largest system practical in terms of design and budget.
- When designing your installation, you want to keep both the length of the duct run and number of turns to a minimum in order to achieve maximum performance.
Installation & Usage Tips
- It is best to install the fan in an accessible place just in case it ever needs to be repaired or replaced.
- Both fans and silencers can be installed in any orientation without effecting performance.
- Use high-quality duct tape to ensure a long-lasting seal—you don’t want smoke and grease leaking into your wall or attic space.
- Once you’re up and running, keep your air filters clean. The filters on AirScape range hoods (and most others) are designed to go in the dishwasher, and easily pop in and out. Do it often, like every 10 or 20 cooking occasions.
