Key Features

High power, low noise
The AirScape 1.7 uses four quiet, energy-efficient, high-precision fans that operate at a moderate RPM. A competitive unit uses just 2 fans, which need to operate at higher RPM to create the same airflow. Of course, higher RPMs mean more noise. Plus, the unique door design on the 1.7 delivers extra noise dampening through careful sound-wave management and soft fiberglass insulation. The end result is less noise, without sacrificing CFM.
The AirScape whole house fan has been selected for the San Francisco Sunset Idea Home, one of the first LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) certified remodels in the country. Learn More
Two-speed operation
At high-speed, you get class-leading 1700 CFM to cool your house down fast. At low speed, our unique design provides 1000 CFM of whisper-quiet flow for night-time operation and is controlled via a wall-mounted switch (included).
Outstanding energy efficiency
Even on high speed, the AirScape 1.7 uses just 140 watts of power — a light bulb or two worth; and a small fraction of the energy used by an A/C compressor. If you are comparison shopping, you’ll see that the 1.7 uses significantly less power than competitive whole house fans in terms of CFM/Watt. The AirScape whole house fan qualifies for rebates in a growing number of states and municipalities. Please check with your local utility for more information and our rebates section for a listing.
Automatic insulating doors
A key drawback with traditional whole house fans was air leakage between the attic and living spaces. This could result in dirty attic air entering your home, and, in cold climates, warm, and moist indoor air entering the attic and causing water damage through condensation. Properly installed, the AirScape 1.7 takes care of this problem with automatic, insulated doors that seal tight when the fan is not in use. The door tolerances are machined to an incredible one five-thousandth of an inch, and are operated by a commercial-grade actuator that seals against an automotive-grade gasket. So attic air NEVER leaks into your living space, and warm air never condenses in your attic. And you can just relax and not think about it.
Premium Cube Core grill
The AirScape 1.7 comes with a premium high-flow grill that minimizes air movement noise through the grill. These high-performance grills look great too, so your system looks as unobtrusive as it sounds.
Easy installation
With an exceptionally small footprint, the AirScape 1.7 mounts between standard joists, either 16-inch or 24-inch centers using pre-drilled tabs. It is specifically designed to fit through its own mounting hole, so no other attic access is required. Equipped with a standard plug and an available remote control, the unit can be installed with plug and play simplicity. See our 1.7 installation page for complete details.
Installs in tandem for larger homes
If your home is over 2500 sq ft, you should consider our new 3000 CFM AirScape 3.0. However, another option is installing two AirScape 1.7s wired to run in tandem, for 3400 CFM of total ventilating power. Our tandem installation page explains how this works.
Heavy-duty construction
AirScape fans are robustly engineered for many years of dependable service. They are built in North America using all-metal construction, high-quality precision fan units, and heavy-duty industrial door actuators.
Maintenance-free operation
The AirScape 1.7 uses four precision computer-room fan units, which are sealed and never require lubrication. The only other moving part is the heavy-duty door actuator which is also maintenance-free. All mechanical parts are accessible and can be serviced or replaced without removing the entire unit.
3-year warranty backed by professional support
Not only are the units guaranteed for 3 years, but they’re backed by our professional technical support. If you have a problem with your unit — or just a question — you’ll get prompt, knowledgeable responses from real engineers. Guaranteed.
Wireless remote option
Makes installation even easier with no wiring to run to the switch. Nice to have for convenient operation too!
